Lisa Louise Bayer CFA, CFP®, MBA

Principal
708-703-3100

After graduating from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Finance in 1985, I worked in myriad roles before founding Opus Financial Solutions, including securities compliance, investment analysis, institutional portfolio management, and teaching investments and financial planning topics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Those roles and hard-earned education and financial designations converged to ultimately building a fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firm.

My objective as an advisor is to help my clients improve and/or be aware of the implications of the financial choices they make. That requires me to listen and truly understand my client's past, present, and anticipated journey before offering strategies and solutions. For some of my clients, that means helping them attain the financial freedom and peace of mind to live as they choose.  For others who have accumulated significant wealth, it is helping them with portfolio optimization and management, taxes, distribution planning, and estate matters.

In addition to my Finance degree from Illinois, I obtained my MBA in International Business from DePaul’s Graduate School of Business. I later attained my Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations in order to provide the highest level of financial and investment counsel. Along the way, I also developed an expertise in divorce financial planning in order to help people make more informed financial decisions in divorce matters and make the process of divorce less painful and less expensive. I've served as a divorce advisor, financial neutral and mediator for individuals and/or divorcing couples (Refer to “Pre-Divorce Planning” for more detail).

I grew up in the Chicago area, now live in Denver, and serve clients across the United States. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time in natural settings hiking, camping, mountain-biking, skiing, playing with my pups, or whatever the weather dictates. I have served in many volunteer roles over the course of my life, mostly relating to educating and mentoring the underprivileged. Thus far, one of my greatest joys has been watching my children—now both young independent adults--evolve into kind, smart, empathetic human beings who I believe will change the world for the better.

Brian Littlejohn CFA, CFP®, MSFA, MBA

970-710-0330

With over 15 years of experience in the wealth management field, I take great pride in making sure my clients are invested in the decision-making process. It’s how I build collaborative, long-term relationships that are more rewarding for everyone.

Having spent the formative years of my childhood traveling extensively, I initially thought I wanted to be an airline pilot. I earned an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and became an officer in the United States Air Force but quickly learned that was not my passion. While pursuing an M.B.A. at night at the University of Arizona, I was drawn to the finance portion of the curriculum. Within two years of finishing the M.B.A program, I decided to leave the Air Force and began working at a wealth management firm in Boulder, Colorado. While providing the clients there with the full spectrum of wealth management services, I discovered that I really enjoyed investment management. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012 and enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Financial Analysis program at the University of San Francisco. After completing the program, I began studying the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) curriculum.

As Wealth Manager at Opus, I strive to be a trusted thought partner for all of my clients, and I take earning and maintaining that trust very seriously. I often focus on providing wealth management services to inheritors, especially those going through major transitions such as death and divorce. I also help clients implement unique portfolio customizations, such as socially responsible investing. In addition, my experience as an entrepreneur and business owner informs my work with clients, having run my own wealth management practice from 2014 - 2024. Shared investment philosophies and a belief that the client’s interests always come first make this union with Opus a perfect fit.

I am a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Financial Planner, have a Masters degree in Financial Analysis from the University of San Fransisco, an MBA from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.

I live in Aspen, Colorado with my wife and our three children. When I’m not working with clients, you can usually find me hiking, biking, or skiing through the forests that surround the picturesque Roaring Fork Valley.
